Omen Longboards 23" Classic

Scrapyard Project – Omen Longboards

Omen has been one of the most active companies in the longboarding scene. They offer great concaves at great prices, and it’s common knowledge that Omen boards are near indestructible. Tanks. It also turns out that Omen hates wasting perfectly good decks, which sounds pretty good to me because in this day and age, we could use some waste reduction. Global warming and all.

This month, Omen launched the Scrapyard Project, where they take B-grade decks from their scrap pile and birth new cruiser decks and unique, limited offerings. All of them have original Omen graphics and construction dating back to various years, but nonetheless, they’re better than your homemade chop jobs. The edges are sealed, rigorously quality tested and released to the public for substantially less than the retail price. A great deal all-around, and if you invest in a certain deck, it might make it to the regular line-up! An awesome initiative in my eyes. Here are the first batch of scrapyard decks.

The 23” classic is made of blanks with failed “accelerated rocker” pressings. Because of their short platform that’s cut right out from the center of the board, they’re plenty mellow but have enough concave to seriously be nimble. Great for a trip to the grocery store or the movies!

The 9” Barfight is a perfectly good Omen Barfight that’s been shaved an inch down the rails to give you a gnarly freeridable, downhillable, positively monkey toe-able beast of a board. And it’s at nearly half price!

pantheon longboard limited release

Sage – Pantheon Longboards

Pantheon just dropped a super limited run of their Sage deck featuring the Purple Trip Graphic. Only five of these are available!

The Sage features subtle refinements from a two year pursuit of the perfect downhill skate. Pantheon focused on changes to the drop, size and concave to give the rider freedom to move while maintaining that locked-in feeling. The updated drop increases rail concave while the center is raised in a crescent shape until it meets the rail. The result is a more substantial drop without wheelbite.

A subtle flushmount up front let’s you ride on top of the truck if you choose. The drop-flare-concave combo keep you aware of foot placement while on the standing platform and offer your feet something to push against.

It measures 39″ long by 9.8″ wide with a slight taper out the back. Multiple wheelbase options from 25-28″ let you choose a symmetrical ride or something that distributes the weight forward or aft depending on preference. 9 plys of Canadian Maple keep it stiff while a 1/4″ each of rocker and drop keep it stable.

Hit the link and choose “Purple Trip Graphic” from the dropdown to pick up one of these limited edition Sages!

Valhalla Sho Stopper

Sho Stopper & Sellout – Valhalla

Tonight, we dine in Valhalla!

Valhalla has been known to make some of the gnarliest looking boards ever. Their sleek designs and cnc’d wheel wells are some of the most notorious and dangerously mischievious things to come by in the longboard scene. With their unique but pragmatic shapes like the black dolphin and the master blaster, Valhalla sits under the feet of hundreds of incredible skaters. But of course, it’s Valhalla and Alex Ameen and he wanted more.

This time around, Valhalla releases two pro-models, both totally unique and guaranteed to be shapes that you have never seen before. One’s a downhill pintail shape, something that’s gone obsolete from today’s market, but was once a classic staple. Another’s an innovative cutout deck that rivals the most advanced cutout decks available on the market.

Introducing the Valhalla Sellout and Sho Stopper.

The Valhalla Sellout is one sexy board. It’s a chopped pintail shape, completely speed stiff and features Valhalla’s signature mellow concave featuring 0.666 inches of concave and rocker, with a good serving of W concave in the back for maximum grip. There’s a standard half-inch of taper and a set of some of Valhalla’s unique wheel wells to show off.

The Sho Stopper is Sho Oullette’s pro-model board. This has been in development for a while now, but now it’s out there for all of you to enjoy! This deck features Valhalla’s standard 0.666 concave. However, this board is unique in the Valhalla line because it’s symmetrical, and it’s Valhalla’s current premier cutout deck. So for those wanting to run huge wheels without risers, this is the one for you.

Check here for details at Valhalla and hit the to scoop one up while they’re still available!

Dasilva Atlas Float

Atlas – Dasilva Boards

Dasilva Boards Emporium of Skatitude is primed to drop a new multi-function rocket, the Atlas. It’s a directional, downhill/freeride board with a kick and the curves you’ve come to love from Dasilva!

You may recognize these lines, the Aldous and Atlas are created in the same mold. You’ll find the familiar tub concave that gets steeper in the center, keeping you locked in and aware of your position on the board. Flares are molded in, there’s no material removed after the press. You don’t have to worry about reduced structural integrity or water-entering the board. Much like it’s Atlas brother, the concave follows through into a single kick, cupping your back foot just right.

Construction consists of a Finnish Birch core wrapped in multi-axial fiberglass and carbon fiber. The combination of these materials mean the Atlas stays light but solid. You can hit the park, the streets or bomb a hill and it will feel at home during it all.

The Atlas measures:

  • Length: 38″
  • Width: 9.65″
  • Wheelbase: 24 – 26″ in 1″ increments

Dasilva just added the update to their store. Hit the link and cop an Atlas!

King Lui Logo

Schindluader – King Lui Boards

It’s time to familiarize yourself with King Lui boards. They’re a regional board manufacturer born from the elevation in the Allgaue Alps, Germany. They emphasize home and high-quality in their boards and it’s apparent in every finished product. Their new directional, downhill deck the Schindluader is no exception.

Input from every team rider and countless revisions went into the creation of the Schindluader. The board measures 35.5″ (90.5cm) with a tapered width beginning at 9.8″ (25cm) up front and narrowing to 9.4″ (24cm) out back. There are three wheel base options at 26.3″, 27.3″ and 28.3″ (67, 69.5 and 72cm, respectively). Micro drop, slightly more than 1/2″ of W concave, wheel wells and flares keep you locked in and aware of your foot position on the board. Construction features 6 plys of locally acquired Ash with fiberglass and epoxy to create a stuff flex. All of the above and the Schindluader weighs in at approximately 2000g or approximately 4.4 pounds. A final Rosewood veneer on the bottom ties in the performance and the aesthetics on this deck.

King Lui’s boards are made by hand and with care. They emphasize local material acquisition and environmentally friendly production. Hit the link to support a great company and scoop up a Schindluader.
