Upcycled & Tailor Made – Rayne Longboards

New mini-cruisers from Rayne. The Tailor Made and Upcycled will let you rip around the park and pack them up when you’re done. No compromise just fun!

No one can resist a cruise or commute on a mini, they’re big on fun and small in stature. Whether you’re cruising for fun or commuting to class, you can pack them up easy when your done. Rayne’s new mini cruisers hit that sweet spot with style and they’re set to be available on local shelves and Rayne’s site within hours!

Of the four new minis available, 3 Tailor Made’s feature some of Rayne’s all time best selling graphics shrunk to fit the boards and 1 Upcycled mini featuring their Rival Spaceman graphic.

Tailor Mades measure 26″ long x 7.65″ wide with a wheelbase of 15″. They’re pressed in the Catalyst deck mold and cut with the Popsicle profile shape at the Rayne Factory. They’re versatile enough to rip around the park but you can still stuff them in your locker!

The Upcycled measures 24″ long by 7.75″ wide with three wheelbase options from 14.5″ to 16.75″ and is made from upcycling decks at the Rayne factory. They’re unique in that they feature a three stage rocker and multiple wheelbase options allowing you to choose a kicktail or a longer wheelbase.

Both feature Rayne’s 65mm, 75a Stoneground wheels, 5″ traditional kingpin trucks, Abec 5 bearings and grip. Hit the link to check out Rayne’s shop or click below to see them individually. They’ll be live within a few hours!

Rolling Tree Acedia

Acedia – Rolling Tree Longboards

New from Rolling Tree’s community driven design process is the top-mount gun, The Acedia.

Rolling Tree Longboards dropped a top mount speedboard as the fifth member of their lineup. The Acedia measures 35″ long x 9.4″ wide with wheelbase options from 22 – 26″. Construction consists of 8-Ply Maple with double composite laminate and environmentally friendly zero-VOC finish. Aggressive flairs and hourglass tub concave round out the Acedia.

The Acedia was designed and submitted by Trent Gobel thanks to Rolling Tree’s community driven development. Community members design, submit, provide feedback and collaborate to produce new products in the Rolling Tree lineup. Rolling Tree has boards still available right now, did you grab one of their decks? They’ve updated their Acedia in 2019 and it’s as versatile as ever, with oversized wheel wells and your choice of a wheel base between 22″ to 25″.

Rolling Tree is a truly innovative company in the space. They open source their design process is community-driven instead of corporation-driven and brings the deck design process to the riders. You should explore working on their next project if you are an aspiring designer or just interested in the creative process of designing longboards.

They’ve used this process to produce decks since 2013, sometimes combining natural wood with composite decks, among other innovation changes.

Speedlab Wheels Skipjack

Skipjack – Speedlab Wheels

Speedlab Wheels dropped the Skipjack, the fourth entry in their artist series. Proceeds go to #speedlabsupporter Brad in his fight against Lymphoma!

The Skipjack is the fourth and latest entry in the artist series from Speedlab Wheels. It is inspired by #speedlabsupporter Brad Morse’s battle with Lymphoma and Speedlab will donate 100% of the proceeds from this wheel to help Brad and his family in their fight. 

Brad’s friend and artist Fil Lapointe designed the artwork for the Skipjack to embody Brad’s likeness. The Skipjack is a classic profile, measures 61MM tall with a 28MM contact patch and is poured in 99A durometer urethane.

Jet Skateboards 2016 Vulcan Lineup

2016 Vulcan Lineup – Jet Skateboards

Jet dropped the 2016 Vulcan lineup last week! Topmount, freeride and downhill oriented decks heavy on features and style.

Jet dropped the 2016 Vulcan lineup last week totaling 9 decks and introducing new models, sizes and features. The series is oriented towards freeride and competitive downhill racing and all top mount. 

The Bangers

The Bangers make up the shorter side of the series with 32 and 33 inch standing platforms. Wheelbases range 22-23.75″ and 23.4-24.9″ respectively. Both Bangers feature progressive tub concave, slight rocker, 1/4″ elliptical micro-drop and mini kicktails. They’re constructed with 7-Plys of Canadian hard Maple and graphics are applied with a pressure laminated heat transfer over a transparent brown or green stain.

The Versatile, New Kicks

Jet added some fun and versatility with the kicktails on the new Kicks. Measuring in at 34.5″, 35.5″ and 37.7″ they are long enough to bomb the steep but you can still thrash with the tail. Wheelbases on the Kicks range from 22″ to 27″ depending on your model of choice. Kick’s feature slight rocker, progressive concave, fender flairs and ¼” elliptical micro-drop pockets. The shorter model is constructed of 7-Plys of Canadian hard Maple while the longer two have 8. Graphics are painted and applied by hand using an air sprayer and silk screen. 

The Vulcans: Classic, Rocker, & Vulcan CX

Rounding out the series are the Vulcan Classic, two new sizes of the Vulcan Rocker and a new composite Vulcan CX. The classic is 35″ long and features include a flat standing platform, 8-Play Canadian hard Maple construction and a range of wheelbase options from 24″ to 27.5″. The Rockers are now available in 35″ and 36.5″ lengths and the CX comes in at 36.5″.

The 2016 Vulcans show style and and run heavy on features. Jet is prepping their store to list the new Vulcan’s but you can grab them at the link when they’re available. We’ll update this post then!

Package of Wasabi

SK – Wasabi Wheels

Get your Green from Wasabi Wheels. Hand-made freeride and downhill wheels from Alicante, Spain.

Out of the Alicante comes Wasabi Wheels with the production of their new SK wheel. The wheels are made by hand in Spain and reflect extensive prototyping and testing from the team. Wasabi started production near mid July and the wheels currently available on request.

Wasabi’s 80a Greenthane provides a smooth and controlled ride with great balance between grip and slide. The SK’s are center set with a nearly 40MM diameter core and 11MM tall square lip. They measure 70MM tall and 50MM wide.

The wheels are not currently carried by a distributor but hit up Wasabi at the link to grab a set!
