Reaper – Never Summer Industries

Never Summer Industries recently released a rich new downhill, top-mount deck full of their own tech.

Never Summer Industries recently released a rich new downhill, top-mount deck. The Reaper is 37.5 inches long and 10 inches wide with an adjustable wheelbase and a 3/16 inch micro-drop. NSI has incorporated some of it’s best tech into this deck, making it a lightweight and stable powerhouse.

This deck has horizontal maple veneers combined with a vertically laminated core. The variation in materials allows more flexibility in shaping and contouring the board without compromising rigidity. The wheel wells are machined with a CNC and reinforced with fiberglass for precision and strength. “W” shaped concave, foot pockets, and flares keep you locked-in for the turns or the straights.

Finally, the deck has been outfit with “P-Tex” nose and tail protection to minimize damage inflicted from curbs and other obstacles. At 4.6lb, the Never Summer Reaper is an awesome deck. Check it out at the link!

Drop Through – Huff & Puff Board Co

Huff & Puff Board Co caught our attention by utilizing reclaimed wood to build boards in a sustainable way. They’re working on a new drop through deck!

Based out of Bremen, Indiana,  Andrew Huff of Huff & Puff Board Co emphasizes sustainable board-building by using only reclaimed or recycled wood. Each deck is hand-made and build materials have included old barn beams and aged wine barrels. Sustainable construction really interests us and the decks Andrew puts out are beautiful examples of his skill as a craftsmen.

Huff & Puff lists several boards for sale on their website and custom, hand-made deck are also available by order. Recently we noticed a drop-through in the works and it’s looks equally sexy and environmentally friendly. Take a look at the link to see what else Huff & Puff have available.

The Fireball Scorch is a sublime blend of rip and grip destined for freeride. Symmetrical, center-set and 71mm keep you cruising while the rounded lip and prepped surface facilitate better slides and faster break-ins.

Check out the latest from the Fireball Supply Co. The Fireball Scorch is a new wheel designed solely with Freeride in mind. It’s center-set, perfectly symmetrical construction allows easy rotation and ensures even wear throughout the life of the wheel. Measuring 71mm tall with rounded and well-supported lips, these wheels offer a predictable, consistent slide when desired but hookup on the carves and corners without much thought.

The scorch is available in three color/durometer options: White 81a, Red 84a and Black 87a. The Slide Prepped(TM) surface means you’ll spend less time breaking in these wheels and more time enjoying the ride. Fireball suggests frequent rotation to maximize the life of these wheels. Swap front-right with front-left and back-right with back-left at the first sign of wear to get the best results.

Omen just released some of the dopest dope we’ve ever doped. A top-mount, maple speedboard from their shop in Seattle, Washington. The Omen is the first deck from their lineup to feature the new T-Bar concave, an awesome new approach to ‘cave.

The Spawn is one of Omen’s Signature offerings and most recognizable boards and one of the first to introduce a new style of concave from Omen. Here’s what they have to say:

…Featuring a frontal bubble drop and a rear ‘T’ Bar Drop Concave we are able to create one of the most functional and directionally focused boards to date. This board has a slight drop to the standing platform which provides more stability and a locked in feeling second to none, and when matched with the stiff flex and multiple wheelbases, this board is ideal for the technical, face first rider, who enjoys being intuitively connected to their shred sled.

Forged Precision Trucks – Sabre

Sabre Trucks recently released the CF 190, a truck produced using cold forged 6061-T6 alluminum billet. According to Sabre Trucs, the final product is superior to both cast and CNC’d trucks, allowing them to be both stronger and lighter. The kicker? They come in substantially less expensive than their CNC’d equivalent, arguably with more features.

Sabre trucks have been hard at work since 2008, making some of the finest longboard trucks on the planet. They truly are one of the most innovative companies with respect to trucks and bushings. We’re looking forward to what they bring us in the coming years. One thing is for sure, Sabre is the edge!
