Dasilva Aldous Back

Aldous – Dasilva Board Company

Dasilva Board Company revealed the 2016 Aldous hill-thriller yesterday. This symmetrical shaped deck is freeride friendly and features a killer graphic from artist Untay.

Details on the Board

Tub concave with a steep center continues through the kicktails and contributes to rigidity without adding any extra material. Molded wheel flares prevent wheel bite without reducing integrity. The combination of concave, flares and kicktails give riders a distinct sense of their placement on the board.

The Aldous is constructed from a Finnish Birch core wrapped in multi-axial fiberglass and carbon fiber, keeping the weight down and the strength up. Untay’s graphics are printed on UHMW, scratch-resistant plastic sheets to ensure it stays pristine as long as the board.

  • Dimensions: 40.25″ x 9.5″
  • Weight: 3.75 Pounds (1.7Kg)
  • Wheelbase: 22.85 – 25″

Tucker Side Profile

NoBull Tucker – Moonshine Manufacturing

A recent collaboration from Team NoBull and Moonshine MFG puts NoBull’s graphics on custom Moonshine Tuckers. The graphics feature nutritional information, ingredients and warnings reminiscent of what would “Give you wings” on the gas station shelf. We especially enjoyed the Total Fun Ridin’ Fact and the SKU!

All Moonshine’s decks are handmade in the USA and feature waterproof construction, urethane rails and truck mounts, vertically laminated wood cores and factory applied laser cut grip tape.

Specifications of Moonshine’s Tucker

The Tucker measures 33.5″ long by 9.75″ wide and offers 5 wheelbase options in .75″ increments from 23.5″ to 26.5″. The truck mounts at 0* on precision machined urethane to both dampen the ride and ensure accuracy. The urethane rails ensure you won’t have issues with delaminating after smashing curbs. The Tucker’s medium concave and micro drop lock you in at speed.

These decks will go out to NoBull’s Team Riders but you can still pick up a Tucker from Moonshine at the link. Keep an eye out for these at the next Bayou Battle in 2017.

Did you cop a Tucker from Moonshine? Tag us on Instagram and we’ll give you a shout out. We love seeing gear from the best brands in longboarding out in the wild.

Goat Basati Side Profile

Basati Prototype – Goat Longboards

Goat manufacturers high-end longboards based out of Navarra, Spain. They began in 2011 with Bamboo laminates and have since methodically improved their design, production and testing processes. Their latest experiment is a sexy new composite prototype for team rider Andrez Krob.

Details on the new prototype are slim but notable changes include a carbon-fiber composite upper and lower, additional wheelbase options and flared wheel wells.

Goat has previously teased prototypes that turn into production models so keep an eye here for availability and we’ll update this post with any additional information we receive. Hit the link to check out Goat’s site and grab one of their decks!

Updates from Goat

Goat reached out to provide some more information. They’re refining a new manufacturing process to reduce weight, increase rigidity and incorporate composite materials. This prototype is the successful result. Goat will be working with team riders to improve their new process until it’s ready for the masses. The prototype pictured here features the same dimensions as it’s all wooden counterpart (Shown below).

About Goat Longboards

Since this initial prototype, Goat has been hard at work producing some epic decks, like the Soul, Hare, and Elude. The beauty of these decks is hard to convey: abstract but down-to-earth about captures it.

Their boards are made for a variety of uses. The Soul and Elude are both more geared toward freeriding, while the Hare is made for downhill. You’ll find the specs on all of them match. Along with the Basati, the Thor Hammer is a great option for downhill riders too.

The production of their boards is treated as both an art and a science, with particular attention paid to the craft with the design, as we mentioned. You’ll notice that their boards are bamboo-based, which is common for manufacturers that want a balance of weight and quality. There’s a reason why Goat longboards look so appealing–they work directly with riders to make sure that they’re staying in touch with their needs. It’s clearly working for them!
